By definition an antique is something 100 or more years old, yet when I visit the local antique shops I often see things for sale which are far less than 100 years old. I will often say, oh I have this or I have that. Many of these items bring back fond memories of long ago times, but at the same time many of them are not really antiques but are older vintage and sometimes even younger vintage items. I like to find out the dates for the things I find or sell. It is really a fun way to learn history. Visiting antique stores whether brick and mortar or online is fun as well. If you find a genuine antique, 100 years old, and keep it and love it then it must be an antique collectible. right? Check here for our newest news and updates.

I collect glass fairy lights and although not antiques, mine are vintage glass. I have researched each one I have bought and know the approximate age, glass company, and if it has glass marks. I enjoy the collecting and it sounds like you do too.

I too, love collecting, I have almost 4000 individual one of a kinds in both my website.
It still shocks me when I see all that I have collected in a relatively short period of time.
I am a history buff and love to preserve those precious memories from days gone by.
It is a lot of work doing all the research.
Does it have to be over 100 years old to be collectible? I don't think so. The meaning of collectible means so many different things to different people.
Beanie Babies were collectible. I think finding that one treasure out there and feeling it worth having is what makes some things become collectible to us.
